DIY Manicure During Lockdown

DIY Manicure and Pedicure Top Cheltenham Beauty SalonWhilst a luxury manicure at our Cheltenham salon is unavailable, we have some tips for a simple manicure to perform at home. We use gel polish for a chip free, glossy finish for up to three weeks so make sure that you book in when we reopen for a long lasting, professional manicure.
For the full manicure experience, simply follow our guide below:

  • Remove any old nail polish
  • Gently file your nails to the shape you’d like them
  • Soak your nails in a bowl of warm water
  • Push your cuticles back gently with a cuticle stick, be careful not to overdo this
  • Moisturise your hands and let the lotion fully absorb
  • Clean any moisturiser residue from your nails with nail polish remover and a cotton pad
  • Apply a base coat, followed by your chosen nail polish colour, then apply a clear top coat
  • Once your polish is fully dry (tip, use the back of your finger to check polish is dry) moisturise your hands and admire your handiwork!

  • Exfoliate the hard skin on your feet using ither a foot brush, pumice stone or even a scrub which you rub with your hands
  • Massage your feet either using the marbles in the bowl or your hands to relax and soothe aching muscles
  • After the massage, rewash your feet in the water and pat them dry with a towel. Apply a moisturiser and then allow to absorb
